Kenneth Riley was born in
Parsons, Kansas and his artistic talent was rewarded with a
scholarship to the Kansas City Art Institute, where he studied with
the legendary instructor and artist Thomas Hart Benton.
During his time at the institute, he became a close observer
of the style of the Old Master painters exhibited at the
well-respected Nelson-Atkins Museum in Kansas City.
Riley advanced in his studies and received a yearlong
scholarship to study at the Art Students League of New York.
He received instruction from famed art instructor Frank Dumond and
legendary illustrator Harvey Dunn.
Riley is an Emeritus member of the Cowboy Artists of America and
his work appears in many prominent museum collections across the
