As Seasons Change, 2000 | oil on canvas | 30 x 40 inches | SOLD
This beautiful scene painted by one of today's most desired and collected Western masters depicts the change of seasons from Fall to Winter and three braves visibly discussing their task at hand whether it be the hunt or something more dangerous.
Born in the Texas hill country town of Clifton, Martin
Grelle developed a deep desire early in his life to paint and
pursue art seriously. When he was 18, he received instruction
from legendary Cowboy Artist, James Boren.
Grelle began his career painting the Scandinavian heritage of
central Texas, but after having been exposed to Western subject
matter, shifted his focus to the depiction of Western American
images in the early nineties. His artistic skill has placed
him at the very top of American Western artists.
In addition to being a distinguished member of the Cowboy
Artists of America, Grelle has won the Prix de West Purchase
award twice. This award is given to the artist whose work
will be chosen by the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City to add
to its permanent collection. Grelle has also won the Hulsey
Buyer's Choice award at the Prix de West for the most popular work
of art in 2004 and 2006.
