The son of an artist, Greg Beecham spent numerous hours with his
father observing nature. In fact, Beecham's father would give
him a photograph of an animal to sketch and have Greg look at
continually as he sketched it, allowing him to greatly develop his
powers of observation. After graduating from high school and
spending a brief stint in the Navy, Beecham enrolled in Southern
Oregon State College for a dual degree in art and geology in 1975.
In 1978 after completing his studies, he moved to Washington state
and began painting full time.
Beecham contnues to refine and hone his considerable skill as a
wildlife artist to the present. He was inducted into the
prestigious Prix de West Show at the National Cowboy and Western
Heritage Center in Oklahoma City. He has since won numerous
